Marc knows Makeup
Hi everybody! I’m back with my Top 5 series, and it’s all about Marc Jacobs Beauty! I love Marc Jacobs, he’s one of my favorite designers, and he has one of the best makeup brands out there. His line is the perfect blend of style and substance. Making the selection was difficult because all his products are top notch. It took some time to narrow it down. Here are the five Marc Jacobs makeup items I can’t be without…
Scandalust
The Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust ($49.00) is one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes of all time. The shades are absolutely gorgeous; if you’re a fan of warm rusty browns you would love this. The color combination is the best; there isn’t a dud in the bunch. You have a beautiful rich copper; quite similar to MAC Antiqued. It’s my favorite shade from the palette.
There’s a gorgeous scarlet red, you know I love my reds. And it has a great selection of basic neutrals that are perfect for every day. You can easily take the look from day to night, and they come in an array of finishes. Most importantly the quality is outstanding; these shadows are highly pigmented, long-lasting, they’re buttery and buildable and blend beautifully. I can’t say enough good things about it; it’s the perfect palette.
Ro (Cocoa)
Next is the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner Ro(Cocoa) 48 (0.01 oz/$25.00).These eyeliners will not budge! Not with Bioderma, not with wipes, the only way I can remove it is with the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips – that’s it. Once it sets it’s not going anywhere; it’s hands-down the best eyeliner for the waterline.
What I love most about the Highliners is they come in every single color under the sun. They have a selection of matte, shimmer, and satin finishes. The options are endless, and it comes with a tiny sharpener in the back. I have several from the line, but my most used is Ro (Cocoa). It’s a beautiful golden brown shimmer, a little deeper than MAC’s Teddy. I use it practically every day.
Dew You?
When my complexion needs a boost I reach for the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in 50 Dew You? (0.8 oz/$44.00). The tinest amount makes a world of difference. It smells amazing; it’s light and hydrating, and the glow, THE GLOW you achieve from this products is phenomenal. Sometimes I use it on its own without foundation, and it’s all I need. It makes my skin look dewy and fresh.
Lines & Last Night
The Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in 502 Lines & Last Night (0.282 oz/$42.00) is certainly a fave. If there’s one item from line Marc Jacobs did exceptionally well, it was the blushes. I obviously love all these products, but if I had to recommend just one item, I would say pick up one of the blushes. They’re worth every penny. I currently have two, and I know they will last a very long time.
The quality and pigmentation are superb; you can essentially get three different shades from one blush depending on where you place the brush. All the shades are universally flattering. I get a lot of use of Flesh & Fantasy; it’s a great everyday shade. My favorite is Lines & Last Night. Cocaine reference aside, I just love a peachy pink blush, and this one is stunning. If you like Nars Orgasm give this one a try, you won’t regret it.
One Mauve Time
And finally, the Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick in One Mauve Time ( 0.074 oz/$28.00). I’m hooked on these gloss sticks; I know they’re going to be a summer staple for me. The shades I have are P(r)each, Black Cherry Baby, and my favorite One Mauve Time.
It’s a lip balm/gloss hybrid. The color payoff is insane. I can throw one in my bag; it’s so easy I don’t need a mirror. It’s super comfortable and hydrating. I want them all!
So those were my Top 5 Marc Jacobs Beauty products. What are your favorites? Any likes or dislikes from the line? Let me know your thoughts!
