The Holiday Edit

Put on your red shoes and dance the blues

The Holiday Edit

Today I’m back with another Beauty Edit! In case you don’t know I work as a gallery curator full time, so curating these seasonal edits are so much fun for me. I love going through my stash and putting together different makeup products; it inspires me to create new looks and get the most out of my collection.

Here are my top picks for the party season!

Dior can dance

Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette

Nothing says glam like Dior. I adore the brand, their makeup and skincare are excellent. And it will always have a special place in my heart because my mom loves Dior. I can remember all the makeup she used from the range when I was growing up. I still have an empty eyeshadow palette of hers circa 1980. Dior is timeless, and they’re always coming up with new and exciting items.

Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette

First, the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette (0.35 oz/$45.00) is a party in a palette. I can’t seem to put it down. It comes with two highlighters and two blush shades. All four shades are buttery soft, easy to blend, and highly pigmented. It also makes for a killer eyeshadow quad.

Bronze (blush), Gold (strobe), Pink (blush), White (strobe)

The bronze and gold shades are gorgeous on the eyes. I also like to put the white shade in the inner corners to brighten things up. You can do so much with this palette, and if there’s one thing that’s certain about Dior is that they make stunning highlighters. (Yes, I still have and use Amber Diamond.) #cultclassic

Girl On Fire

Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in 636 On fire

I know red is the go-to lip for parties, this year I’m leaning towards something different. And don’t get me wrong I love a good red lipstick, but I’m feeling a little fiery orange. The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in 636 On fire ($37.00) was a gift from my good friend and fellow makeup junkie Chanelle.

On Fire is a limited edition shade; however, I was still able to find it online. The formula is ultra creamy and comfortable. The best part is the color, oh it’s sexy! It’s electric; it truly reminds me of fire! It’s richly pigmented and has a beautiful metallic sheen. If you want your lips to pop this holiday season; look no further.

Lancôme Artliner Precision Point Liquid Eyeliner

The Lancôme Artliner Precision Point Liquid Eyeliner ($30.50) is one of my most reached for eyeliners because it’s so easy to use. It has the best wand; it’s precise and glides on without any tugging or pulling. I have the standard black, but it also comes in an array of fun colors.

The Holiday Edit

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils in Burgundy

My favorite mascara for a night out is the YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara in Burgundy (0.2 oz/$32.00). I’ve talked about it numerous times on my blog. This mascara has a wonderful volumizing formula, it adds nice length and definition to the lashes. I adore the burgundy shade; this intense color provides lots of impact.

Clarins Fix' Make-Up

Finally, I finish it all off with the Clarins Fix’ Make-Up (1.7oz/$29.00). It’s not your standard setting spray. Yes, it maintains skin hydration and makes my makeup stay put for hours, as we should expect from all setting sprays really. The scent of this one is divine; it also has a fine mist that feels lovely on the skin and I love the bottle!

In good spirits

Byredo Pulp Eau De Parfum

It wouldn’t be a beauty edit without a fragrance, right? My pick is Byredo Pulp Eau De Parfum (50 ml/$165.00). Truthfully, I haven’t delved too much into the world of Byredo; I know it’s very popular especially in the beauty community. I sampled two of their fragrances, and wasn’t all that impressed. Pulp I love.

It’s a fun and fruity scent, almost boozy. A few of the notes are bergamot, blackcurrant, fig, red apple, and praline. It’s a ripe festive fragrance ideal for this time of year; the opposite of warm and spicy, hey, it’s a party!
