Solstice is right
Today we’re talking about the Sleek MakeUp Solstice Highlighting Palette (9g/0.32oz/€12.49) This is my first and only drugstore highlighter and I really dig it. I saw Pixiwoo use this palette for a Gigi Hadid tutorial and thought, “It will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.”
According to Sleek, Solstice instantly enhances the complexion with a radiant glow. The highly pigmented metallic finishes create a gorgeous luminous sheen on the skin and suits all skin tones. My first impression is that it’s a very sophisticated palette, this could easily pass for high-end. The compact is a lovely gold, very luxe. It contains four shades with a good amount of product.
Why I Love it
The shades are Ecliptic (top left) the only cream shade. It works great as an eyeshadow base. I’ve been wearing it on its own all over the lid. It’s a pretty pink-mauve color. The consistency is similar to MAC Cream Colour Base. Hemisphere (top right) is a baked powder. This is probably the most unusual color in the palette. It’s a light lavender and perhaps the color people would wear the least. However, I really like this shade. It reminds me of NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Callisto which is an icy pink silver shimmer. I use it the same way I would Callisto, as an inner corner highlight with a dark smoky eye. It creates a pretty pop of color that catches the light.
Subsolar (bottom left) is silky shimmer powder. It’s a bright, frosty pearl. The color payoff is fantastic. They’ll be able to see this one from outer space. I feel it’s too intense for the brow bone, but I love it in the inner corners. This shade reminds me of MAC’s Nylon eyeshadow. Equinox (bottom right) is the second baked powder in the palette. It’s the shade closest to Becca’s Champagne Pop but less peachy in tone. It’s very similar MAC’s All The Glitters and Marzipan from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. Equinox is beautiful on the lids and it’s gorgeous as a highlight. This is the shade I use the most.
Final Thoughts
All four shades have awesome pigmentation. The texture is nice and creamy and the longevity is excellent. My favorite part about the Solstice palette is that it’s versatile. Yes, it’s a highlighting palette, but these shades work beautifully on the eyes. It’s a great multipurpose product at an excellent price. I’m so happy I purchased it!
