Swatches
From left to right: Situation (soft pink), Hashtag (taupe green), Ciao! (deep fuchsia), Rosie (petal pink)
I love the 11:11 color story; it’s just stunning. However, I find RÓEN’s description of the shades to be a bit deceptive. For example, Rosie is not a petal pink; it’s more of golden peach, and Hashtag is more silver gunmetal than a taupe green.
The palette is not as rosy as I thought it would be, and that’s not a bad thing. There’s nothing pastel about these shades. They’re sophisticated and would work on a multitude of skin tones.
Review
RÓEN calls their shadows fool-proof. I don’t think that’s the case. In my experience, you need to practice and play with them and find the best method that works for you. Once you have the application down, you’ll want to use them every day. I got major fallout the first time because I used a brush. For me, the best method of application is your fingers using firm pressure to get the most payoff.
All four shades are high-shine but have different textures. Situation is the most disappointing shade for me. It’s flaky and difficult to work with. You can see by the swatch how patchy and uneven it is. It has chunky slices of glitter; I don’t see how it can adhere to the lid even with the best of primers. It’s fallout city, and although it’s pretty, it’s the shade I’ll use the least.
The other three shades have a smoother texture. They blend nicely and stayed on my lids for a good six hours. My favorite shade is Rosie because the glitter is so fine. Sometimes I mix Rosie and Ciao! together. Hashtag reminds me of Victoria Beckham’s Lid Lustre in Mink; it has that similar glossy oil slick look. If you’re not a fan of glitter or creasing, you may want to skip this palette. I don’t mind a little creasing; it’s effortless and lived in. It’s a vibe.
The Look
Eyes: ROEN 11:11 Eyeshadow Palette (Rosie on the lids with a touch of Ciao! on the center.) Cheeks: Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blush in Love is the Drug. Lips: Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly in Fire. Earrings: Mejuri Editor Hoops
RÓEN pride themselves on using clean ingredients, free of talc, parabens, and fragrance. The packaging is 100% recyclable, so you can remove the shadows if you like. There are some harsh critiques on the packaging. I really like the packaging; it’s simple and lightweight. And although it’s not luxurious, it’s looks elegant.
Overall, this is the perfect palette for hot summer nights with Roxy Music playing in the background. If you know, you know. 😉
