Happy Sunday Everybody! Today I have a review for you. I received a package from Laura Geller Beauty, they kindly sent me their new Filter First Luminous Foundation and Concealer for consideration. I have to say I‘m over the moon and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you!
What it Does
According to Laura Geller, the Filter First Luminous Foundation (1.0 oz/$38.00) is a medium coverage foundation formulated with ILLUMISMOOTH technology, a fabric-like technology that enhances and perfects skin without masking your overall complexion creating the perfect canvas.
The Filter First Luminous Concealer (0.5 oz/ $24.00) is a multi-tasking medium coverage concealer that instantly brightens the eye area and improves the appearance of dark circles and signs of fatigue. It’s infused with hydrating, anti-oxidant rich skincare ingredients to moisturize the delicate eye area and create a softer, smoother complexion.
Why I wanted to try them
I know foundation is the jam for many people. Personally, I don’t explore different foundations often because I’m very picky, and I have a few that I know work for me. I can’t have anything that’s dry or cakey. This foundation appealed to me because of its ingredients. Now when it comes to concealer I’m the exact opposite, I’m always on the hunt for the perfect concealer. I want something that’s brightening and lightweight. When I saw this concealer had skincare benefits, I was sold.

Review
I found the perfect match for my skin in Beige. For reference, I’m a 5.5 in Armani’s Luminous Silk and 6 in Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder Foundation. It has a liquid consistency so you have to shake the bottle before use. Upon first application, I immediately noticed how light it felt on my skin. This foundation offers a skin-like finish that’s breathable, not heavy or cakey looking. It just looks like my skin, but more radiant.
Coverage wise I would say it’s more of a light to medium, and it didn’t oxidize at all. After an eight hour work day, I was pleased with how my skin looked. It didn’t go patchy or settle into the crevices around my nose; I did notice it wore off around my upper lip area at the end of the day. Some of the ingredients include Grape Seed Oil which is a powerful anti-oxidant, it’s great for keeping the skin smooth and hydrated, and it also contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. At my age I prefer a foundation with skincare benefits, and I’m very impressed!
My shade is medium in the concealer. Like the foundation, it feels ultra lightweight, and it doesn’t crease or look dry under my eyes. The consistency is similar to the Maybelline Age Rewind because its so thin and easy to blend. The finish is very skin-like and forgiving on fine lines. It illuminates the hallow areas beautifully. My one criticism is the sponge applicator, the quality could be better. The concealer itself is wonderful.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m happy with both the foundation and concealer. Keep in mind the formula is better suited for a dry or mature skin. If you enjoy foundations like MAC Face and Body or Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder you would love this! Thank you, Laura Geller!
