Diaphanous indeed.
I have to admit powder is not my thing. It’s the makeup item that gets the least amount of use. In fact, I only have three powders in my collection including this one, the Rouge Bunny Rouge Impalpable Finishing Powder in Diaphanous (7g/$43.00) I‘ve always been curious about Rouge Bunny Rouge but never had a chance to try their products until now. This is definitely a YouTube-enabled purchase. This is Karima Mckimmie’s powder of choice and what Karima uses Milly must have. She’s always raving about it so I thought I give it go.
First the packaging, it’s gorgeous! Packaging may not be a big deal to some but I love the attention to detail. It’s black and white with a very cool floral design. I don’t want to throw away the box. It’s enough to make an art lover like me fall in love. There’s even a whole story behind the product, the Enchanted Garden’s Forest of Wishes.
The product inside is just as lovely. Diaphanous is a white powder but totally transparent. It disappears on my skin yet makes my makeup look better. How? I honestly don’t know, it’s mixed fairy dust maybe? In all seriousness, this sets makeup perfectly and helps the longevity of my foundation. It’s ultra lightweight and soothing and it almost has a cooling effect on the skin.
Diaphonous doesn’t look heavy or powdery and that’s important to me because I have dry skin. The main reason I tend to stay away from powders is because they can be aging. Powder tends to go into fine lines especially under the eyes but not with this. It’s not cakey at all and sets my concealer beautifully. And because it’s Silica-based it illuminates the area. I really enjoy using Diaphonous and eager to try other Rouge Bunny Rouge makeup items. I hear their Long-Lasting Eye Pencils are amazing.
