Believe the Hype
Hi guys! Happy Easter! I’m waiting for summer like you wouldn’t believe. I have a few items to rave about this month so let’s get started…
YouTube Made Me Do It
For makeup, I have two items that are Beauty Blogger enabled purchases. First, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk (3.5/$34.00). I adore Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. They’re one of the best lipsticks on the market and when she brought out Pillow Talk makeup lovers went wild.
I had no intentions of buying it. I didn’t need another nude lipstick, but Sammi mentioned it in her 2017 favorites video. It was the lipstick she wore on her wedding day, and it looked beautiful on her so of course, Sold! It’s a beautiful almost mauve nude. The formula is lovely. It doesn’t feel drying, it’s the perfect everyday lipstick.
I’ve seen so many YouTubers talk about the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara (0.27oz/$9.49) I had to try it. It’s infused with coconut extract to nourish your lashes. Personally, I don’t pick up on the coconut. Sandra said it smelled like almond milk and I totally agree. I don’t normally smell my mascaras anyway, so the scent factor is wasted on me. I will say it’s a great mascara. It holds a curl well and fans out the lashes nicely, it’s super lengthening too. I would repurchase it.
Forgotten Favorite
My forgotten favorite is the Tarte Tarteist PRO to go Amazonian Clay Palette (0.85g/$23.00). I bought it last May and took with me on vacation. When I got back I put it away and forgot about it; I don’t know why because this is a great little palette. If you’re into warm shadows, you would love it.
All the shades are beautiful and wearable; there’s not a dud in the bunch. With eyeshadow palettes, there’s always a possibility of one or two duds, or colors you wouldn’t use, but not with this. It has both matte and shimmer finishes; there’s plenty of looks you can create from it. It reminds me of a mini Modern Renaissance palette in a way. It’s beautiful and affordable.
Good Skin
On makeup and no makeup days, I’ve been using the Clarins SOS Primer in 05 Lavender (1 oz/$39.00). It’s lightweight color correcting primer that creates a lovely base for makeup. It brightens my skin and adds glow; I love the luminosity and hydration it provides. On days that I don’t want to wear makeup or can’t be bothered with foundation, I just take a tiny amount, and it blurs out any imperfections. It’s not just a primer; it has great skincare care benefits too.
The flu I had in February lingered on through March, and it wreaked havoc on my skin. My skin was dehydrated, and I was breaking out. My savior was the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Sheet Mask (1 sheet/$6.00). I swear by Dr. Jart+ masks in general, but this is my favorite. It gave my skin instant and brought it back to life. My skin feels amazing afterward. There’s a lot of product left inside the package, so I save the sheet and use it on my hands too!
Super late to the party on the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème (0.05oz/$38.00), but I just had to sing its praises like everyone else. I loved Ole’s Fresh Start eye cream; it was thick and hydrating. Sadly it was discontinued. If you were a fan of Fresh Start, you will love this!
The consistency is nice and thick. It’s hydrating, collagen boosting, and brightening. I would say it works similarly to the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. My husband prefers the Origins, but I love this one. You can use it on the entire eye area, and it works beautifully under makeup.
Thank you so much for reading! It means the world to me. Please tell me what are your favorites this month? Any recommendations?
These are a good bunch of favourites you have accumulated here. I especially love that banana cream, it sure does sound appealing!x
