Feels like Summer
Time for a roundup of my go-to products for the month of June. I have some makeup faves I took on my trip to South Africa that I want to share, you’ll recognize some products from my summer essentials.
Bringing boys to the yard
A few months ago I purchased the Milk_Shake Leave in Conditioner. I discovered it through the makeup artist Violette. First, it smells just like cookies, nothing wrong with that! After I wash and towel dry my hair, I spritz some in as evenly as possible. It helps detangle my hair and add some much-needed moisture to my strands. The very next day my hair feels smooth, and so much easier to brush through. There’s no residue or greasiness. Sometimes I like to spritz some in throughout the week for a moisture boost. It’s pretty addicting stuff.
In My Travel Makeup Bag
The Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust is becoming my most used eyeshadow palette. I normally don’t take large palettes on vacation; I usually go for a quad or a single eyeshadow pot to keep my makeup bag light on the trip, but I just had to take this palette with me. The shades are stunning; they remind me of the colors of an African sunset. The quality is outstanding; there’s not a single dud in the bunch. The packaging is chic and slim; so if you were going to travel with it, this doesn’t take up much space at all.
I rediscovered my love for the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub on this trip, and it’s still on heavy rotation. I’m almost all out, so I need to purchase another one. It’s one of those easy lip products you don’t have to think about. You throw it in your bag, and you really don’t need much else because it provides a pretty, but natural pink color. My lips are extremely dry, so having a lip scrub on hand was very useful.
I’ve been carrying the NUDESTIX Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze in Sunset Strip in my bag since I purchased it. I sound like a broken record, but I LOVE this product. It’s so easy to use, it’s the perfect shade of coral with a touch of pink, and it blends like a dream. I know the brush is not popular, but I still use it when I’m on the go or for touch-ups. If you’re eyeing one of these, just do it!
Pure plum
For skincare, I’ve been consistently using the Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil. I’m never without a face oil; I love what they do for my skin. This one feels very light, so I use it both day and night. It doesn’t feel greasy or heavy, yet it’s super hydrating. It sinks in right away and works tremendously well under makeup. And it smells just like fruit, which makes me happy.
And finally, I have to mention a TV show I’m loving; it’s Pose on FX. My best friend Carlos got me into it. I’m super late to the game, but I binged the entire first season on Netflix, and I’m hooked. I laughed; I cried. It’s fun and entertaining, and at the same time tremendously significant. And the soundtrack is amazing; you have to watch it! If you’re obsessed with it too, please let me know!
