I’m back with a few beauty favorites today! These items have been getting me through these hot and rainy days here in Miami. Around this time I usually say I can’t wait for fall, but this year I’m sad to see summer go. I work for a university, and our summers are a lot less hectic. Now it’s back to the grind. October is my favorite month, so I am looking forward to that and of course to buying some new autumnal makeup that hit the stores this time of year.
First up the Fresh Rose Face Mask (3.3 oz/$62.00). I pretty much do what everyone else does, which is keep this mask in the fridge, and as soon as I come home and about to die from the heat I slather this on and chill. This mask is so refreshing and hydrating, and it feels cool on the skin. I’m instantly in a better mood when I use it. I’ve been using this mask since spring, and I’m very impressed with the results. It looks just like strawberry jam. There are real rose petals inside, but I just want to put it on toast. Don’t worry, I won’t.
For hair, I’m enjoying the Prose Hair Oil (1.7 oz/$48.00). Big thanks to Prose for kindly sending this to me because it’s such an outstanding product. I have a review of the entire line if you like to have a read. The hair oil was my favorite item. This stuff is divine; you only need a minuscule amount because it’s so nourishing and hydrating. It makes my hair smooth and manageable. It’s packed with beautiful, natural ingredients. My hair loves it, it’s definitely one of my beauty favorites for the month.
Milk and Honey
Moving on to body care, I’m almost out of my Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter (8 oz/$39.00). I love using this in conjunction with the Creme de Corps Smoothing Oil-to-Foam Body Cleanser. It’s such a dynamic duo; I get out of the shower put this all over my body, and I smell like vanilla frosting. It’s so yummy, and it leaves my skin so soft and smooth.
I only use the body butter at night because it takes time to absorb into my skin. But at night after a hot shower with the oil and this body butter and I’m ready for bed.
Hot makeup for hot days
I rediscovered my love for the Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Bonze (0.21 oz/$45.00). This is an oldie but a goodie. I can’t believe I’ve ignored it for as long as I have. Blush is probably my most used makeup item; I’m a blush whore, and I’ve accumulated so many that I’ve neglected this one, but this one is stunning. It works with any makeup look.
Rose Bronze is an iconic blush; it’s loved in the beauty community and for good reason. Now if you can’t stand fragrance in makeup, you may not like this. I don’t mind it; it fades quickly. And this shade is perfect for summer, and it will transition nicely for fall.
You know I had to talk about Lisa Eldridge’s Go Lightly ($26.00). I haven’t stopped wearing this lipstick since I got it, so of course, it had to be part of my beauty favorites for month. This shade sold out immediately, and I hope she brings it back because it’s stunning. It’s a fresh, pinky coral color that will be a summer staple for years to come. Looks beautiful on the cheeks too!

A new discovery
And finally, I have to thank Influenster and Laura Mercier for sending me their new Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (1.7 oz/$47.00). If you’re a tinted moisturizer girl like me, you would love this. They sent me a travel size, and I wore it on my trip to Cuba. It was unbearably hot, yet it managed to stay put and look amazing. I would have never thought to try it, but I will purchase the full size in a darker shade because I can’t see myself without it now. If you have dry skin and don’t use foundation, but still want to look put-together give this a try.
