The one where I rave about cream blushes.

I feel naked without a blush; it’s my favorite part of my makeup routine. Blush makes my skin look alive and gives me that boost of confidence. I remember my grandmother always wore rouge; she had a compact with a deep red blush inside like MAC’s Frankly Scarlet that she took with her everywhere. I think that’s where my fondness for blush comes from; even with a mask on, I still wear blush. These days I mainly use cream blushes because it’s the most flattering on my dry skin.

Today I have an overview of my most used, most loved cream blushes. These are the ones I would run out and repurchase because I want to keep them in makeup arsenal. A good cream blush is essential. Some of these blushes are on the pricier side. I think they’re worth it because they have great skincare benefits. Let’s get started! 

Poppet

The Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Poppet is the newest cream blush in my collection. I purchased a few Westman Atelier products back in January after a long no-buy and sadly neglected them when the pandemic hit. I’ve been using them now that I’m back at work, and I’ve completely fallen for this blush.

The color is stunning; it’s a bold, vibrant pink. Yes, it looks a little scary, but because the texture is light and blends so nicely, making it look completely natural on the skin. It gives the most beautiful sheen. And apparently, it has anti-aging benefits, which is a bonus. According to the Westman Atelier website, this product contains vitis vita grape extract to detoxify skin cells, promoting the production of the skin’s collagen and hyaluronic acid. Hey, I’ll take it.

Sun Touched

The Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched is one of my all-time favorite blushes. It truly is a phenomenal product, the skincare benefits are wonderful. It has sweet almond seed oil, which promotes skin elasticity. Along with rosehip seed oil and vanilla planifolia, both are rich in vitamins and antioxidants that keep the skin moisturized and calm. On top of that, it comes in sustainable packaging that you can use over and over again.

What I admire most about this concept aside from the environmental benefits is that it’s an homage to when makeup was almost like jewelry. Makeup packaging was so unique in the 1930s and 1940s, it was like carrying a piece of art, and that is what I see in Kjaer Weis products. Yes, the luxurious packaging drew me in, but the product itself is brilliant. It’s pigmented, blends beautifully, and wears nicely thought out the day. 

Sunset Strip

I raved about this blush several times in previous blog posts, so I’ll keep it short. The Nudestix Nudies Matte All Over Blush Color in Sunset Strip. I call it my travel companion; it’s gone with me on several trips because it’s so easy to use. It’s a favorite for summertime. Sunset Strip is a beautiful bright coral pink that’s so flattering on the cheeks; it makes my skin look fresh and awake. I love it for lips too. Nudetstix make excellent cream blushes in an array of colors, and they’re cruelty-free and fragrance-free. 

Quickie

If you’re looking for the most natural flush, the kind you get after running a mile or waking up after a long nap, then look no further than the Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in Quickie. Yes, the color is a little scary, but I promise it works. I think the trick with this blush is the intense berry color.

It perfectly mimics a natural flush like you just had a facial, and blood is flowing in your cheeks. I feel it’s the best blush for baby cheeks. It also contains ingredients like mango butter, avocado oil, and apricot oil to hydrate the skin and help the product blend smoothly. Great everyday blush. 

Very Charming

I adore the Tata Harper Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in Very Charming. I like to keep this is in my makeup bag I take to work. It’s what I use to touch up if I have a reception in the evening. Tata Harper calls this is an anti-aging neuropeptide blush; it’s full of beneficial ingredients that will minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Very Charming is a pretty strawberry pink. The formula is incredible. I like to blend it using my fingers; it’s super easy. And it gives a nice healthy flush and plumps up my cheeks while adding a dewy glow. It also smells just like fruit. Tata Harper is one of the best clean beauty brands out there.
