My Top Concealer Picks
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer in Medium (0.2 oz/$8.99) I love this concealer; this is my second tube. It’s inexpensive and effective. I’ve heard many people don’t like the packaging; they feel it may be unhygienic. Frankly, I’m not worried. I removed the sponge off my first tube and regretted it. It’s no more unhygienic than a doe foot applicator. The coverage is great; it’s long lasting and I love that it feels lightweight. It conceals dark circles and brightens the under eye area. And this doesn’t crease or look cakey throughout the day. The Maybelline Age Rewind is an overall winner.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (0.22oz/$29.00) Nars offers a wide range of shades. I use Vanilla, Custard, and Honey for different areas of my face. It’s medium to full coverage and can be a bit heavy and sit on the skin. Personally, I only experience this when I first apply it. I do feel this concealer looks better throughout the day at least in my experience. It hides any blemishes or discoloration I may have. I don’t think it’s very hydrating but it is illuminating and it stays put all day. This is the one I reach for when I’m going to have a long day and little time for touch-ups. There will always be one of these in my beauty stash.
The secret weapon
Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer (0.3oz /$36.00) This is an amazing concealer, I really recommend it for dry or mature skin types. It doesn’t get talked about much and it seems to be sold out everywhere. I really hope it hasn’t been discontinued because this baby is magic. Unfortunately, there are only three shades in the range, get it together Dior. Mine is 002 Beige. I love this because it blurs any dry patches or flakiness I might have while still looking natural. I also use it to hide the tiny broken capillaries underneath my nose. It’s skin like and blends like a dream and a little goes a very long way.
Armani High Precision Retouch Concealer in 3 (0.14oz/$40.00) I love this concealer for under the eyes. This is a very light reflective concealer. It works great for deflecting any shadows and illuminating hollow areas. It can also be used to highlight the high points of the face. I love using this on days when I’m feeling tired and my eyes are puffy. It comes with a tiny brush perfect for a precise application. It is expensive but it has skincare benefits like Vitamin E and added moisturizers for hydration. It’s pricey but worth it.
The workhorse
MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer Duo (0.1oz/$30.00) MAC Studio Finish is my die-hard workhorse concealer. Actually, it’s the very first concealer I ever used; this guy and I go way back. This is the duo version but I also have the individual pots, they’re perfect for travel. You will always find this concealer in my bag; I never leave home without it. MAC offers tons of shades; I use NW20, NW25, and NC30 depending on the time of year. This is an emollient-based concealer perfect for dry skin. The coverage is phenomenal; it’s great on blemishes or covering redness and long wearing. This also has SPF 30, which is an awesome bonus. I adore this concealer and it will forever be in my collection.
